The phrase “Black Friday” has some people marching down to the nearest department store with their torch and pitchforks. Some go the other route and board up their windows and doors entirely (not really).
The day after Thanksgiving, popularly known as “Black Friday,” is one of the busiest shopping days of the year in the US. Many stores, like Walmart, Game Stop, and Victoria’s Secret, even extend their hours by opening early in the morning and/or including “door-busters,” special discounts only given when the store opens their doors.
Shopping on Black Friday is nothing short of a war. People get hurt. Millions of dollars are spent. Sometimes supplies run out.
